ok well om going to quess your talking about welding out side. take exteriordoor handle off i beive it a 10mm nut. get cardboard make templete make it maybe a tenth of an inch bigger or more cut out on sheet metal and bend and test fit. then get ll paint off around the handle. make sure your car exterior is warm! and tac on the piece spray with warm water then do small welds spraying them so it doesnt warp. once welded use filler and feather everything out smooth. i used a wire feed and the ground was a problem had someone hold the ground on the plate from inside the car.

let me just claer one thing up real fast, this is not for a "novice" using a welder or even using panle bond just doesnt get taught over night or online for the matter
using a mig welder there is always always a chance of the metal warping i have been in my trade for over 15yrs and i still have slight warping in the metal, the only shot ya got would be to use a tig welder but ya a huge amount of experience to tig weld
again welding is not something you ppick up on over night or online there is allot behind welding, its not just pick up the gun and poof!! adjusting the machine adjusting the gas using the correct size wire, allot of factors not again to mention EXPERIENCE!!!!
i have used panel bond in the past and on my own car but you will see a outline of the handle, mine started to come back after only a short time of them being done, why??? becasue i rushed the process and did not take my time to properly prep the donor metal
the correct way like i re did mine would be to cut the handle opening out and making a new piece of metal to weld in there is nothing wrong with panel bond shit bmw and mercedes use nothing but the product on the back of there cars it is great stuff but only when it is used when you have expericne with the product
not to mention the cost a tube of 3m is 30 bucks and ya have to buy the applicator gun which is over 70 bucks if ya have a welder my miller cost me 800 plus the tank plus extra wire plus extra tips, but in my professional opinion weld new metal in

no offense but i HATE replies like that... he asked what's better... not for a roostery sort of "let the pro's do it". every time someone asks about painting there's another member who lectures that they are stupid for trying it and they are pretty much gauranteed to F it up... man i hate that.

WTF.. I just tacked on a nail or bolt to the middle of the sheet metal outside, hahaha then clamped the ground on it.

he's known for it, why do you think he's had so many different names lately?
if your sure its gonna be permanent, i'd go welding. just donb't keep the tip in one spot for too long or you might warp the metal. if you don't want it to be as permanent, panel bond.

weld and get a hammer and dolly to help with the warp. tig if you can mig will work fine if not just as good. I don't like the "pro" line eather my theory is that even a "pro" was a novice at one time you have to start some where. and why not on your own car. the best way to learn is make mistakes and just plain f*#k it up !!!!

Heh, I wish I could shave the handles on my Park Ave, but I can't weld, I wouldn't trust ony of my friends welding the body metal on my car, there's no way I'd pay for it, and I just repainted it 8 months ago which was a pain in the ass and I don't want to do it again for a good while, lol. Makes a for few issues eh? :P
Goood luck!

I think paying more to have them panel bond them is stupid. i know plenty of people that had them welded, myself included, with no outlines or warping.
