Modified Oil Pan

Well I just got home last night from work and had the worst conference call ever. I seemed to piss off my district manager. I had everyone in my training group sign a paper that they go to school. Well I turned it in to the trainging coordinator. The issue is the next training class will be during finals so we would have to miss class. SUCKS. Well they dont care although they push to say stay in school and open door policy this and that. Well the coordiantor took it to the manager and she sent emails to all district managers saying we signed a "PETITION". When he ask me I had no idea what petition he was talking about. Then i said oooo the list of students, its not a petition. But the email sent to him was worded in a angry way putting words in my mouth, i was left in aw . So long story short I got in trouble on my first week of work.

Now the only good thing that happend that day was the UPS man dropped off my modified oil pan from miller performance. Man what a day.

Did they just made it bigger to contain more oil or is there some internal work?

Oh sorry, i thought everyone knew the concept behind it. Well I modified my block and removed the balance shafts. Installed the 2.3 oil pump so now without the extension it wont fit.

Okay....Like I said I removed the balance shafts, and installed the 2.3 Oil pump. Removing the balance shafts eliminates weight off the crank, and in turn frees up about 15 horses. Plus the 2.3 oil pump flows better. So its a win-win. But one must modify the oil pan to fit cause the pump is bigger and sticks out.

Exactly what I was thinking grim, thankz for bringing that up. I plan to install the intex lowerings springs which wont sit my ride as low as now. But yeah it sits pretty low so i have to work on that.

its not that much of an issue on the 2.4.

On our cars there is some kind of beam from the frame that pass underneath the engine. It protect it from any hit from under it. I know because it happened to me a lot to hit the ground when running on bad roads. I've checked at frirst, but it always hit that reinforced metal beam.

My only fear would be that the new oil pan doesnt fit btw the engine and the same beam i was talking above because it is now bigger. Dunno if that sounded clear?

^^^ Hopefully, there is enough clearance for the modified oil pan.

It looks like it's only 3/4" - 1" lower than before. You should be just fine having the car that low. As Vinalero said, that metal chassis beam sort of blocks the oil pan from being hit. I've rubbed that beam plenty of times going up or down steep driveways, and there's plenty of room to spare for the oil pan.
