Had my car weighed at the public scales: 3000lbs, +/- 20lbs. I had 3/4 tank, and maybe 40lbs of stuff in the trunk and back seat. This is for a 2.4L, auto, coupe with 16s. Sound about right?
Seems heavy to me....

Reddog how do you figure they weigh about the same?

You just said it yourself your V6 coupe is about 300lbs heavier than his 2.4L coupe, both with automatic transmissions..

On the GL, sedans are 58 pounds heavier than coupes. (I'm assuming that's JUST door and door jam wieght...)

Where are you guys finding specs on the WEIGHTS of the engines?

Now wait a sec. What's that sticker on the door jam on the driver's side mean? I'm thinking the 1st figure is the total DRY weight of the car, and the other 2 are what the car weighs at each axle, much like the way they weigh a tractor-trailor. If's that's the case, my car is a TANK lol. I'm really hoping I'm wrong, because there's no way all the power options on a 6 cyl coupe add up to 3,900 lbs.

That's not the weight of the car, it says right on the sticker thats the GVWR, or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

Meaning total weight of the car can not exceed 3900lbs with passengers, cargo and fuel...
