Security light.

On my way to work, my security light came on. Stayed on until I tried restarting the car at work. Any ideas what it was or is?

Mine does the same thing every once in a while. Have also had the passlock issue like 4 times in the last few months. Makes sense with the key I suppose?

And lol at Adria.

key looks like it's still in good shape... maybe it is the cylinder... It didn't do it on the way home, so we will see what happens. If it is the ignition cylinder, how much are they to replace?

Heh...mine comes on every day and stays on for the entire time it's being driven. I had the key and the ignition cyl. replaced ($400) and less than 2 weeks later it was back to its old tricks. During the summer I have to deal with the security lockout on average about once a week where I have to wait 10 minutes for the re-learn. In the winter when the temps aren't as high, and there is no humidity the problem basically goes away.

i think the ignition cylinder is around 100-140$ for the part and then figure in the raping charge from a dealership so yea probably around $400 to get it replaced, you could always just make a keyless ignition and save yourself a ton of money, all u need is 2-3 relays, like 25ft of 10g wire, and high amp rated push button and some misc. connectors to go keyless

I like the keyless idea. I actually wouldn't mind doing something like that. Need a good how to though...

Isint there a way you can disable Passlock by using resistors matching the resistance of the key or something similar to that?

Think can just cut the yellow wire while car is running smarter to put on a switch if at dies it won't start until it's reconnected. Think doing I that way light will stay on all the time though
