The Big Three

I just purchased 0 gauge wire for the Big 3 upgrade but need help determining what route to take with my wire. I have a 2000 GL Coupe with the 2.4 engine. Im doing the Big 3 because i have an Alpine - MRP1000 Class D Mono Block amp pushing a 12" DVC 4 ohm Type R sub running on 2 ohms with a severe headlight dimming issue
Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

Some high ferad capacitors or some extra batteries will help your light dim issue.

Stay away from capacitors. They have a specific purpose but the typical user will never see this need. They will do more harm than help...

Look into a second battery for your trunk area if the dimming persists. Honestly, I was running 1600rms off of stock electrical and the big three in 1/0. Little to no dim at idle. You should be fine.

Just advising him away from other advice. OP there are many places to run the wire. Try to make the strands as short as possible. It'll make a minimal difference between using a 36 inch and 34 inch wire, but a difference nonetheless. Run the wires along edges to avoid any and all hot surfaces. You don't want to damage the sleeve at all whatsoever... It's a very flexible procedure man. Get creative!

My plan was to run it right above the fans and tie wrap the alternator wire to that lip that is there. There wasnt much in that area that produces heat so i figured that would be great. Just wanted to know where others who did the Big 3 ran their wires as opposed to what my location is going to be.

What ever route you take make sure to secure your wires so they dont move around and get into trouble!!!!!!

my 2ga alt wire is run behind the engine, against the firewall, behind the fuse box, then under my WAI over to the battery.

I have a short ground wire over to the engine block (i believe under a bolt for the engine hoist) and another front the battery to the body panel directly infront of the battery. I didn't bother with another from the engine to the body, since they are both w/in a foot of each other... Probably should, but I didn't.
