So I went dragging racing for the first time ever in my life last night. I must say I had a blast!!! I ran my 2003 2 Door alero about 5 times. It had just over half a tank of gas (a mix of Esso 87 and Sunoco 94.....don't ask...), no spare tire or jack, and my stock crappy 15 inch rims with horrible BF Goodrich Touring T/A's (poop tires). I couldn't help be spin my tires through most of first gear (like to 5500rpm) on most runs, but here are my results.

Run #1 was against a 5.0L Mustang.....I am in the right lane....I got taken bad <_<

This is run #3. I went against a Ram Air Grand Am GT who had taken out his spare too, but had less gas and one heavy ass body kit (and 18" rims). He admits it isn't his best run though. I am in the right lane again! Big Win!

BTW - The clock screwed up at the 1/8 mile mark. I could only hope I got a 8.934 @ 82.73MPH time there

Yeah, it is a 5 Speed Manual. the only Engine mods I have are a CAI and Cat bcack exhaust. Next time I go out I'll have my new 17's on the front (keep the skinnier lighter 15's on the back) and less gas and RSM motor mounts. Hopefully the times drop a bit

Work on that R/T. Get that down and you'll smoke a lot of people.

Go on the 3rd amber, if the light turns green, you're late.

Really good 60 foot times. Your launch looks pretty good. I just got a 2.280 this weekend, my best 60 foot ever.

Don't worry about who your racing, esp in a test and tune or time trials, you'll get to nervous and screw up.

What RPM did you launch at?

Yeah, some people told me about that with the reaction times....so if I giver 'er at the third light, I should red light?

I was dropping at about 2900-3000rpm with 22psi in my tires. But I will have my new 17' tires up front nexdt time (keep the 15's on the back for dragging) so hopefully I'll get better traction.
