Well that's just nuts lol and expensive! So if I were to do this engine in an Alero would it work/be easiest to use a gtp tranny or that of equivilance? We're pulling the "bad" engine out tomorrow or Monday and going from there on it. In no rush for anything as far as rebuilding it and installing it if it is salvagable except for maybe having it running by A.S.S. ;-)

get a original GTP one, a 4t65 hd... that's the only one that will hold the power of the engine... even with stock engines they always fail at a moment or another... and also the important thing is the wiring... if you get that one you will not have to mess too much with the wiring harness (except with power and grounds and UART data... where are you located... I can do this swap for you if you drop the car at my shop...

Thanks, we are pulling the motor tonight so maybe by next week we'll see if the block itself is still good. I was curious, I was at the junkyard today looking for parts other than for this and saw a buick regal gs that has the series II supercharged and was wondering if I could still use the wiring harness, computer, and possibly the tranny out of something like that?

Manual swap isnt harder than a motor swap.... Just pedal assembly and a clutch res and master.. Get that shit on the cheap

yep, but getting a custom flywheel machined and rebalanced with the engine (because this engine has an external weight of 280grams thas has to be placed at the right spot, or youll destroy the crank bearings) and add on top of that at least a stage 3 clutch and you already have more than a grand spend... now buy the tranny and parts and fits them...

^agreed! In an alero that thing will have you freeking flying. Unfortunately in the grand pix's the car is just to heavy.

I have to disagree with u on this one bro. a couple of years ago, I use to have/own a Buick regal gs and that car would fly, but I guess in the alero it would be a bit nimbler(be faster in a cavy though), sorry for kind of hijacking ur thread man, but just the idea of a 3800 supercharge in an alero gets me excited even though its not going into my car. sorry

Zearchyo...not a prob, hoping to tear it down to the block here soon to get it checked out. Guiguilandry... would I need to build the tranny much from the gtp? & where did you get most of your parts and information from?
