mrmike is an unknown quantity at this point
Brembo rotors (avoid drilled, slotted is okay I guess), hawk performance pads, KYB AGX are the only performance struts available, nothing but OEM replacements for axles unless you have them custom made for big ca$h.

I think the OEM brake work great. In fact much better than the other 4 cars I occasionally drive.

I think you're the only one on this website that will say that.

You are insane.. Alero brakes are terrible... car is to heavy for the size of the brakes we have... they should have had corvette sized brakes to begin with...

Yea, the OE brakes SUCK....should have dual pistons from the factory. I went through stock front calipers/rotors like crazy. Then i bought the camaro brakes and i was VERY pleased. Def a HUGE upgrade.

my alero just rolled over 150,000 miles and has original rotors and calipers...It stops almost immediately when I tell it to...There might be some change with the fact that I don't have abs, I just know what it can take without locking up...90-0 in about 200 ft (living on the highway sometimes you have to gain distance from the people behind you...there have been to many close calls where people behind me haven't been paying attention and almost hit me)

What!? Then you brake like a Grandma..... i DEF don't brake too hard cause i like to keep my pads on as long as possible but i went through 2 sets of OE rotors and 2 pairs of calipers within 2 years until i switched to the dual piston. Maybe i didn't bleed them good enough or something....but all i know is the dual piston is SUPERIOR to the single piston crap.

Yeah the OE brakes really aren't half bad. It's usually the rotor/pads that get put on there I think. My brakes used to blow until I got some good raybestos pads (and cheap ass drilled/slotted rotors, dunno how much they impacted).

With the 5 or so cars that I've driven regularly I'd confidently put the Malibu under top 2 right now... although to be fair one of the cars is a Chrysler Sebinrg

my only issue with the brakes is they chew up inside front pads quicker then the outside. i make sure to service the brakes every 4-5 months and keep the pads lubed.
