'Universal' 5 Bolt Rims
I can't find an answer on or off the site. Do so-called universal 5 bolt rims fit our car's bolt pattern? I've been looking for some decent used rims (that aren't rashy which is the hardest part), but these people never post enough info.
Also, I've read 38-42 is the offset to go for, but is that all that will fit? If you're going to go outside that ideal range, should you be going for higher or lower offset? Some of the rims the online stores suggest for my Alero are +35 offset. I have OEM size rotors and calipers, and car will be lowered slightly (eibach pro).

I asked the guy what car he used them on, and it was a 99 Eclipse, which takes a high offset wheel and uses 5x114.3. He doesn't know the exact offset though.

I believe the rims off an eclipse will work, IIRC. I was looking at swapping rims my buddy had on his 97 Eclipse

Just grab some hub centric rings... Actually, I think some guys on here run them without the rings. Good looking wheels tho

I'll have to find a way to measure the center bore of these rims, if I buy them. Otherwise how do you know what rings to get or if you even need them?

I like them, they're different and not over-styled. Alot of konigs and other rims I see, I think are ugly.
I looked up the hub size of a 99 eclipse and its a fair bit smaller than ours. I'm not sure if they'll fit right because of this. Wish I could find these effing things on a website somewhere with the specs.
I could get these for $700 CAD (guaranteed to fit going by the info the guy posted) with tires but I don't like them that much.

I could still use an answer on the offset thing. Ideal is +38-42 but how far outside of that can you go? Tirerack has shown me +35 offset wheels when searching by vehicle.
BTW I know this is noob shit.

Not sure... I mean as you increase the width of the wheel, with the same offset, both the inside and outside of the wheel are wider, obviously. The thinner the wheel the more flexible you are on offset. If you use a lot of positive or negative offset on a thin wheel the edge of the rim/tire would still have some room before meeting the edge of the fender or the inside suspension.
As the wheel gets wider the range of offsets thins.

normally id vote second on them but the first ones do look different enough to be great on an alero, if budget dont make a difference to you get the first (if they work)

I'd kill for some split spokes, but all the used rims I see in ads dont work out.
17x7 ROH Adrenaline Wheels
+32 Offset <---- pretty sure it wont fit
5x114.3
Center Bore unknown.
Oh and they're in QC, QB which is a rediculous drive.

I'm sure they'd look great, but I wrote them off when I saw them weeks ago b/c of the offset. +32 seemed too little, even though that was just an assumption. A 10-12 hour drive, round trip only to find they were no good helped. Same deal with most of the ads I've seen, which narrowed my selection a lot.
You sure +32 works?

my new rims are +32, 17x8, a 17x7 with the same offset means you have more room inside the rim and outside the rim.....

That really opens up my options, then. Thanks all for the responses to a thread that's got to be painful to read for someone who knows.
