yea it hasnt been the same since i got into my first accident almost 3 years ago they run around $50 in NYS for the plates

check the inside of the trunk latch for rust, had the exact same problem on mine was just a rusted loose latch

I don't know about you, but I'm not a big fan of how NY custom plates don't have stamped/raised letters and numbers. Oh well
