so it looks like 2.5 - 2 3/4 is about the right size for a decently modded v6 or turbo'd 4 cyl......right around the 230-240 horse range.....

pretty decent guideline for N/A engines...but it doesnt include all engine sizes. plus with a turbo (providing the new exhaust will be from the turbo back) you want the biggest pipe size you can fit to get all the restriction off the turbine. this will provide quicker spool up (decreased turbo lag) and increased power output.
