I've been pretty confused on the Dr. Speed intakes on their website. They have 3 different stages but as of right now i don't really know the difference between the 3. i.e. which is a WAI and which is a CAI...or is there either?
I know its totally a newb question but i'd really appreciate the help

CAI or Cold Air Intake, puts the intake into the fender, where colder air rushes into it.
WAI or Warm Air Intake, has the intake in the engine bay, where warmer air is pulled into the intake.
CAI helps with top end and fuel efficiency.
WAI does front end and fuel efficiency.
anyone want to double check me on that.
as for the doctor speed ones... stage one and two are WAI. Stage 3 is a CAI.
you'd be better off waiting and getting a NAICHSPEED from doublealero0 in december. it'll be cheaper and it supports the website.

I'm currently in the process of selling my 'ho, but my buddy's g/f has a forest green '03 GaGT. I know couplers are available in red, blue, yellow, etc....but would it be possible to get couplers in green? I had her talked into getting one for her ride last summer, but she wants it to go with her whole green scheme, and I never did find anything in green. I'd evencontemplated getting another intake and swapping couplers, but it seems like green just isn't an option normally.

I posted a review on this awhile back FYI. But Redog...ya got me curious...why do you convert to WAI for street driving? Don't you want max performance when the all looks/no mechanical mods import pulls up next to you?
At age 42 and with plates that say RDRACR1, still like going to 5 over to see whatcha got...
Not a slam...just wondering if I'm missing something on this...

^^ for better fuel efficiency and no risk of sucking up water into the intake durring every-day driving.
I drove with a CAI for 2 years every day, and now I use a WAI every day just because you don't have to worry about water.

do you have the 3400? if so, check out the new option, the cold air box. Supposed to give a good boost at all rpm's and be safer than a CAI if its really wet in your area. Im getting one for chrismtas i think.

Something tells me doctorspeed aint fishy.
check it out on the bottom of this page!
http://www.doctorspeed.com/alero/alero-intakes.html
and btw, its not really a box per se, its more of a heat shield separating a stage 2 WAI from the rest of the engine compartment.

naich used to make CAI and WAI and sell em through the site, i believe...and now double0 is making them and continuing. you'll have to ask him about it specifically though

How do you convert it for warm air? Do you have it to where you can use both? Or you ONLY use it as warm air.

^ I think he just switches them out. CAI for the track, WAI for street.

News flash.
A CAI or WAI doesn't make you faster. They add like 2hp compared to 2.3hp at the wheels. You can get a better performance boost by hooking a tube up to your ass that runs out the back of your car and farting while you drive.
Get whatever is cheapest (Naichspeed).
