Hey, I'm Alex.

My names Alex, I'm 16 i'm from Woodbury CT. I have an 02 Alero coupe, its all stock so far i'm broke right now consitering i just bought the car for 6,000. It has 46,000 miles on it. Good condition over all except a large scratch from the prev. owner. However i have a 1000 watt 12 in. Pioneer and a 300 watt with two 10''s. I know im only 16 but i have a pretty good knowledge about cars. Anyway i was just wonder what i should do to my car when i get some money =/ currently i have $2000 but am only willing to spend 300-400 on my car. Thanks -Alex

Welcome! Sounds good so far. I would say tint, clear corners and possibly some LED upgrades for the interior. They don't have to be blue or green or anything crazy. I got some cool white led's to replace dome and rearview mirror lights to add some class. Superbrightleds.com or oznium.com can be your best friend!

Yeah an intake would probably be best. I'm probably going to search around on some forums and try to find some led's aswell. thanks for all the welcoms.

A GrandAm GT's cold intake should work since it's the same body and 3400 engine right?

Welcome!

Yes; Alero, GrandAm & Malibu are based upon the same chassis and engines. Most mechanical parts are interchangeable, body and interiors are not.

CAI is the start. IMO improved swaybars will give the most improvment for the money, I prefer handling to looks. Tint is always nice but do yourself a favor and don't exceed local laws (by much). Mostly keep it clean and very well maintained to help prevent future problems. I suggest planning for a trans filter change @ 50k.

Take care.

There's a good inexpensive CAI for you, my only complaint is that the filter doesn't quite fit on the piping, so you'll have to sand/file the inside of the filter boot on (don't worry, it's plenty thick to make this safe), or you could get another silicone coupler to strap the filter on.

Hey that was kind of a dead link, or at least for me it was. What CAI kit were you talking about? I'm assuming it is from a different car.
