About a month ago those subs were buy one get one free. It should sound alright. Never heard Alpines type-E subs. You should be fine running it in that ported box. Turn on the subsonic filter to about 35 hz so you don't bottom the speaker out.

Looks good Sno!

I'll be hones with you, I've had my eye on this (out of stock though).
Sub box
I don't know about the quality or whatnot but it got some decent reviews and the price is unreal.
When my tax money comes in I'm going to be looking into pretty much the same thing your doing.

I personally haven't owned them but have heard many of them and haven't been impressed. Never heard them in a bandpass box but then again I've never heard a bandpass box that sounded good. Bandpass boxes are 1 note wonders. I can only imagine what a sub that doesn't sound that great in a sealed box would sound like in a ported box.

I have got to go with the above post on this one. I haven't heard the subs, but I haven't heard a bandpass that ever sounded "great". Loud and sloppy does not equal great bass.

Says who? I've seen many boxes that don't have the ports on the same side as the subs. My home audio sub included. It has the sub firing down with the port facing the front.

I have a single first gen e type 12 in my car right now.
Dont expect to win any spl, sq, or anything else for that matter... the etypes are the lowest end of alpines range... they dont like more then about 150 watts rms or so. In a sealed enclosure you could push it a bit more, but i wouldnt recomend it.

If you like to listen to rock, or country then the E will provide a lil extra low end to liven up your music, but it wont stand up to the likes of Lil jon, Ludacris, and Gunit... lol

I agree with jamcllw visonik is CRAP.
Bandpass isnt what produces good bass, it can be verry efficant at certin frequencys, but is not capable of producing good sounding, clean well rounded bass like a sealed or ported enclosure is able to.

The way that a bandpass box works just makes it not possible to get clean sound... beacuse the sound is produced by the ports... that leads to sloppy sound...

If your drivin an 88 toyota hatchback and you put a bodykit on it, its still a f***in 88 toyota hatchback, just with a bodykit.

think about what you post. you cant turn VISONIK into ALPINE, ECLIPSE and other comparable brands... it aint gunna happen.

What is boils down too is the fact that your not going to get anything good unless you pay for it. Yes you can get low cost subs that sound good. But at $150 for 2 12" subs in a bandpass box (which very rarely sound good) you can't expect good sound quality. Will those get loud? Probably. Will they sound good at the same time? Not likely.

well loud is a relative term... 2 150 dollar visonik 12's? as loud as the single r 15 im getting this week? i think not... lol

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

and good gear is usualy overpriced for a reason, it lasts longer.
