it was clutch's idea. he did it in his car a while back, and posted it in the showcase (with his buick, iirc) I just liked it, and used it in my car.

Back in the good 'ol days us glow guys used to feed ideas off each other, and nearly compete for "best in show" in the showcase.

Lolol you're right. I just look at pictures and type man! Lol still looks good. Two colors would give me seizures. I'd stick with one, but I like it.

I have a 6 position rotary switch, that changes the "scheme" in my car. 2 colors, 3 settings.

gauge red
gauges blue
gauges/vents/seatbelts red
gauges/vents/seatbelts blue
gauges/vents/seatbelts/floors red
gauges/vents/seatbelts/floors blue

its not like they strobe or anything. I originally had blue, and it looks dumb with a red car, but the color is still nice. So i like to change once in a while. It makes any lighting project ungodly more difficult... but its just what I do.

I've had offers, and even was doing work for a little bit...but never finished it. I kept him up to date, with all the trouble I was having keeping the thing working... and before it was done, he killed his car. So the project fell through (no money was exchanged, so no harm no foul)

But I normally have zero free time to do this stuff... And the money I'd have to charge to make it worth my time, would make it not worth it to you guys. I'd like to do my work as cheap as possible... I'd be getting screwed price wise.. then if I charged enough to make it worth it, I'd never be making anything. Its a no-go. If I did it for a job, then maybe... but being a student, no way.

The rotary switch is a badass idea for sure.

I feel your pain dong things for people. I get that quite a bit, people wanting junk done. Pretty sure I charge peanuts... I've put decks in for like $10, subs in for $30... I damn near did it for free this summer for a bunch of random people I didn't really even know lol.

It would be a really cool job, but the market's just not there. You'd have to be a full on installation shop that also carries lighting accessories...sigh if only.
