100,000 Miles service

Ok...this thread hopefully will find the answers for people who own alero's that are nearing or already passed the 100K mark.

my car's at 98,000 miles and since I've owned it (got it with 93K), I have done nothing major other than changed the oil, new spark plugs, spark plug wires, and a transmission fluid flush.

I've heard that there's a variety of things that either should be worn out by now or will be needing replacement in the near future as a car nears 100,000 miles.

they include:
fuel filter
struts
brakes
serpentine belt
coolant
power steering fluid
coil packs
battery
transmission fluid
spark plugs
spark plug wires
tires

so...whats the deal with all of these things? I can almost guaruntee that the previous owner of my car didn't address any of these other than brakes, tires, and serpentine belt (it looks pretty new).

also, if anyone else thinks of common things that wear out by 100K, put them in here. please, 100K specific things only - we all know that the oil and air filter need to be changed on a regular basis

thanks- rich

Ryan from Ohio will become famous soon enough
I would go with plugs and wires for SURE. Trans fluid and fiilter would be wise also.

O2 sensors couldnt hurt either, but its optional.

If the struts aint blown or rusting out dont replace them.. waiste of $$$.

If the power stering fluid doesnt smell like burned asz dont bother.

Oil and trans is the only things that should get changed by the numbers. Rest is inspect and replace and needed.
