Will a set of 19X8 fit on an alero without changing any suspension components?

They should fit, I have seen 20's for Alero's go to tires.com and check it out.

The diameter of the rim is not the issue. It's the width in relation to the offset. I have yet to see a 20"rim that fits a stock alero. Normally the rim has to be 8" width or less. The offset should be between 35 and 42.

What facts? He asked if they would fit. So abvously since there is a company that makes them for the Alero and a Very reputable company sells them as stock replacements then obvousily my facts are straight.

You will need to check the offset of the rim you are looking at. It needs to be between 35-42. Guess what I'm saying is, need more information to answer that.

I don't believe that 8.5" rims actually do fit the alero as vtolds thinks it would interfer with your strut assembly.

i think 8.5's will fit if the tires are 225 or less (i think the stock rim is 215) or you have a bigger offset. I have 18/8's, not sure what the offset is, but when they tried to slap on 235's they would have rubbed against my strut. I guess a bigger offset would have fixed that problem and 235 would have fit, but my choices were limited at the time. If the rim you really like doesn't have a big enough offset i think you could technically add spacers if you really wanted to (anyone know for sure?) And just because they make rims that will fit on our bolt pattern doesn't mean they will work properly on our car, there are a few cars with our bolt pattern size!

ya, kinda, its all in the offset. My 077s (like Nicks) were 18x8 and I had 235's on with no problems.

20's won't fit without suspension mods. 19x8's should be okay dependant on offset. 19x8.5's are iffy though and I doubt the 20x8.5's will work. More info here: http://invision.aleromod.com/index.php?showtopic=20

yea just adding to what groucho said up there

20" rim without suspention mods will not fit, also if you did 20's on an alero you better not expect to stop fast...even 19's youd better get some bigger brakes.

19x8.5 will not work width wise with any dropping spring, stock it might but I guarantee your going to rub everytime you turn.

The 19s have to do are 19x7.5 and a 225/35 tire simply becasue any bigger and your never gonna make your turnin radius to drive the car normally....

*sigh* they DO make 20" rims that will fit. everyone needs to quit saying they dont. it's just a very small selection of rims, like 2 or 3.

and plenty of 19s fit. i do believe american girl has 19s for example. but it will depend upon offset and width obviously just like any rim.

Safe rule of tumb

Plus size only one size larger than the biggest wheel from the factory.

example:

ex wife's cavy had 14's, but the LS has 16's so I put 17's on it :thumbsup:

That's the way I do it, because you have to have some sidewall
