considering i own one, i'll give you my insight. (mine is a GLS though)

Pros: handling, engine durability (LIMG (lower intake manifold gasket) not included), acceleration, and lots of potential and mods available. I love it.

Cons: lower intake manifold gasket tends to take a crap, but if its already been replaced on the one you're lookin' at.. then woot. when the gasket goes, oil mixes with coolant and vise versa.. which in short, sucks buttocks. -- fit and finish, everyone has that problem, nothing a little TLC / some of your own work cant fix. the most common problems with the alero with the 3400 is the LIMG, wheel hub sensors going out (killing your anti-lock brakes and traction control, making your instrument panel look like a christmas tree) and the fit and finish. if you're patient, and have a bit of spare time, you can fix all that and end up with one hell of a car imo.

Here is some info on the car we are looking at.

We really want to keep it until Monday so that we can finish up our running around...

Clean title so if you have the cash this will be quick and easy!

Emerald green, V6 3.4 liter, GL 4 door sedan and will have about 80,000 miles on it by the time we leave. Tan interior. Has air conditioning, power doors locks, power steering, power windows, tilt wheel, cruise control, dual front air bags, 4 wheel ABS, tint on all windows. Body is in great condition.

The power steering pump, steering gear box, fan belt and temperature sensors were all replaced in Spring 2007.

The water pump was replaced in Oct 2007.

Both the front driver's and passenger's window regulators were replaced in January 2008.

Front end brake job and wipers replaced on 10 Feb 2008.

Car detailed inside & out on 11 Feb 2008.

Oil changed on 15 Feb 2008.

The radio/CD player does not work. There are some small tears on the dash board (can be seen above glove compartment in pic - small black spot) and side door panels but nothing major. Automatic locks work for all doors except passenger front door which must be manually locked and unlocked. Passenger tail light is broken in the corner.

Overall, no major problems and in great shape!
