4ohm And 6 Ohm Wiring

Well I currently have 2 12" JL w3's andboth are the dual 4ohm model. I happen to have a 12" w6 Dual 6 ohm model available to me for cheap. Is it possible to wire these three speakers together with no potential problems?

You don't realy have to worry about ohms on that amp. It will displace the same wattage at 1.5 ohms as it will at 4 ohm. Go to this link at JL tutorials. You want the option 3 DVC drivers with Voice Coils in Series / Parallel. It will give you between 3 and 4 ohm. You have to keep mentioning that amp. I think you do it to make me jealous.

run each coil on the 3's in parallel, then each speaker in parallel.................then run the coils on the w6 in parallel.............run your 2 sections in series and that will put you at exactly at 4 ohms i believe lol........man i think i confused myself on that 1

alrite there you go, the black lines indicate any wiring in parallel, the purple indicates series and thats the last step before it gets to the amp, i marked only the positives, everything else is negative, thats done on one channel and will give you a 4 ohm load, you would need a serious amp to push all that, something around 1200-1400 watts rms, even then i just dont think your going to get out of it what you are putting into it.........
