4 gauge fuse...

What size fuse would be appropriate for my 4 gauge power wire? I bought a kit, and i guess it came with a 60 amp fuse, which just blew. But searching all over the internet i have came up with a few 100amp figures??? ANy help please?

Woah.
60amps is the most I'd run on 4gauge. I got a feeling you were clipping the hell out of your amp or you had a DC short.

4 Ga is rated to 150 Amps.

The amplifier you are using will dictate what fuse you need up front.

For instance, if your amp has 80 Amp worth of fuse on it, you want to run a 100 Amp up front.

Remember the front fuse is ONLY there to protect your wire... Its not meant to regulate current to the amplifier.

60 Amps is the highest rating on 10 Ga wire.

Oh sh*t lol sorry, for some reason I was thinking 8-10gauge instead of 4 lol.

I usually rate the fuse for wire by the current that the wire can hold, since that is what you are protecting anyway unless the amp does not have fuses.

Ya thats ok, but I dont do that when Im dealing with 1/0.

Simple reason, take for instance my case. I need a wire capable of almost 200 amps. I would run 2Ga but its not common enough and finding things for it is a PITA.

So I dont want to fuse it at 350 Amp when my real draw at the amps is 150. Even though Im only pulling 150 total at amps its advised to bump that up just in case .

Yeah, I have 3 runs of 1/0 from the front battery to the back. But I draw around 410amps of current.

For 2ga accessories, xScorpion makes a few quality products for it, even though they don't carry 2ga wire lol.
