Security light turns on while driving.

I've seen instances of the security light flashing but my security light only turns on while driving. Is there anything that can be done about it? I can turn the car off, restart it, and no light anymore.

Any ideas. Is it the ignition switch?

I have the same problem if I run my car in accessory mode before driving. Not quite sure how to fix it but I know it started after I had my remote start put in. Common link maybe?

My Security Alarm sometimes makes it for my car wont start and I half to wait 10 minutes before I start it.

mine does the same thing, i have an ignition switch problem, i have a new switch, but i'm not replacing it until i tear down for my turbo kit.

I also have this problem in my '02 V6. I have command start as well. Doesn't seem to do anything other than randomly turn on. Restarting the car makes it go away but it's still an uneasing feeling having this stupid light come on.

Same problem for me, too. It never really developed into anything, but if I remember right, about a week before it got totalled the dreaded flashing security light came on, but the reset thing worked for me and nothing more. Not sure if it's fixable or what.

It hasn't happened since. Plus it only happened when it was raining or damp. Could have been some moisture on the key as well. Who knows at this point.

Mine does it too.

The key wears down over time, thus making it loose in the ing cyl.

Try a new freshly cut key first

It came on today, so I'll try the spare key that I got with the car as well then.

mine does the same thing. i'm pretty sure its the astrostart i have on it. also if i use the remote to unlock the car b4 i use the remote to start the car, the security gets mad at me.

Aleros are messed.If I use the button on the inside of the car to lock the door then walk away from the car the horn will sound and the lights will flash as if I hit the button on the stock keyless remote.It doesnt do it all the time,just every second or third time.Im summing it up to be something that just happens.
