ok i have had this question for probably the whole time ive owned the damn car. but can someone tell me what exactly this hose is!?
i know we have 2 valve covers, so doesnt this mean we have 2 PCV's? cause i noticed this hose lead to the back of the valve cover. and the other PCV connects to the TB and some MAP sensor lookign thing.

Its a little hard to tell from the pic, but if its the one I think it is, it has to do with the EVAP system. Has to do with collecting gas vapors and collecting them and putting them into the cylinders. If you follow it, it should go into a little electronic module looking thing with another hose going into it....

itis NOT part of the EGR

you could consider it part of the EVAP, i guess, but i consider it to do the same thing as the PCV, actually it does.

it just takes built up pressure and fumes from the rear head and puts it back into the intake so there is no pressure built up in the crankcase and the fumes as well.

oh yea, that tube is not connected to anything but the rear valve cover, no electronic modules, etc.....

the tube goes right under the coil packs right into the vavle cover.

It is the PCV valve, I've had to replace mine twice now because it keeps breaking and making a bad vibrating sound.

its a check/purge recirc used for lower emissions during startup, because until a catalytic convertor is at operating temperature, it's useless.

a certain amount of gasses produced during combustion escapes past the pison rings into the crankcase as blow-by gasses. that hose is designed to reduce the resulting hydroc arbon emissions by routing the gasses and vapors from the rear valve cover into the intake manifold and combustion chambers where they are consumed again during engine operation.
