Federal law requires a CAT. Removing it is illegal, unless you need a new one, then it must be replaced (they are warrantied from the manufacturer for 80K miles). You are the only one responsilbe (paying the fine) for this so most shops will take it off if requested. On some late model cars a lack of a cat has shown power loses, most see no difference with or without a cat and its just bad for the environment (hugs tree). There really is no reason to omit it. :shout:
