SW Ontario newbie

Hey everyone!! I'm relatively new to the site, first time poster, long time user. A lot of info on here and a ton of beautiful cars! I have yet to do any mods to my car, although you guys are all inspiring me to get on it!

A little about my car...04 2.2L coupe w/ 150K. No mods.....yet! I'm doing my overlays today (It looks like 85%-90% of users here already have done it) and I've been considering clearing the corners for almost 2 years!! (Friend I played baseball with did it to his '01. Said it was easy and looks nice!) I've done some reading on here about it, but there's some that say not to do it. Just wondering why?

Just wanted to say hey to all the users on the forum and keep up the good work everyone!! I hope to contribute and learn from all of you!

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the replies.

kwhauck, I've seen you state on a few other posts about not clearing the corners. I was wondering if there was a specific reason, or just for others to join "le resistence" lol

I think clear corners depend on the color of the car...with your red car clear would look good..where kyles silver looks better with the amber

Eh, I have silver and I hate the orange piece, I'm going to clear them during Christmas break most likely. I also am going to paint the bezels black, and do black eyes on the blinkers/side markers. Then I might look into getting some black or gunmetal rims, not sure yet how it will look. Hopefully I can find someone around here that will let me put some on to see how it looks.

I'm not sure, probably just for fun, my first two aleros had cleared corners so some may say hypocrite, I just decided I don't mind the amber for the current alero....

yes, I may eventually clear them when i get a new paint job to the lovely P38.........

Personally I like the clear corners. I was unsure of how it would look with the red (the car I saw it on was dark blue and it looked awesome). After looking around and seeing pics of a red Alero with clear corners, I like the way it looks.

BTW, installed overlays this morning. Doesn't line up perfectly, but most of the system lights line up. Gotta wait until it's dark to really check em out. I kept the dimmer switch that came with the overlays because I read on the forum that the overlays can be pretty bright.

kwahauck, I think the clear corners would look better on the silver Alero's, give it a nice clean look. If/when you end up doing it, post some pics. I would love to see them!

Thanks again to the others for the greetings!

tw0123, I'd like to meet up and see these other cars/put faces to the usernames, but I need to do some mods to mine to make it show-worthy! I wouldn't want to show up with a 98% stock car when everyone else has all these great mods lol. Then again, that's why I'm here. PM me when there's details about the SWO meet, I'd be interested in going.

You'll find that the majority of the cars on here are actually fairly close to stock, and very few qualify as show cars.
