My upcoming swap project YAY finally!!!!!
well i know i said before was going to do the 3800 s/c engine swap. well its going to be happening soon. i just need to get some funds up for some parts and then i will go from there. estimated start date is middle/end of june. goal is to have it "ready to race" before the end of the track season. although i need new front tires currently one of them looks like a slick and the passenger front is getting close. i also should be replacing my suspension most likely i'll be changing that during the engine swap regardless. i will hopefully be updating this constantly as the swap starts and progresses. i will post pictures throughout the process so everybody can watch the process.

i know that im sure i was come up with some really good mods that will help get better times. i will be getting either toyo t1r or proxes 4 tires to help with traction. 225 hp /275 torque will be the start point without mods. im not sure about exhaust. more details will just be figured out as the swap progresses.

Have fun and I'm looking forward to the end results.
I give you credit, it's not an easy swap

sure it will need some fab work but it shouldnt be that much of a big deal. the longest part will be fab work and re-wiring the whole engine harness.

Why not get a hardness for the 3800 motor and fab that into the car? I would think that's the easiest way.
Anything to make the wiring easier is a plus. The Delta was a PIA and I only had to run about 5 wires

yes thats correct but it still will in the mid 14s from the get go. regardless it will still be unexpected when somebody gets up next to her. i wont be making it totally obvious that she will be supercharged by the time i get to 13s i will have replace the pcm. i already have one to get this swap started so ill worry about replacing pcm and other stuff later on. the 3800 s/c definitely pushed ssei riviera park avenue ultra and they are much heavier then my alero will be after the swap. they are most likely a good 300-500lbs more than the alero will be.

I don't know the weight of the 3400 vs. 3800 (if anyone knows them feel free to throw them in) but I'm sure it's not that big of a difference. That much power and torque and a good launch should easily put you around 14 flat, if not in the high 13's. Going deep into the 13's is perfectly capable on a stock engine and PCM.

The engine harness is pretty well all self contained and goes through one of the grommets on the drivers side. So you can work with it out of the car fairly easily.

yea i know that im just pointing out everything else is going to be fairly quick. i know i will need torque mount and tranny mount for the frame. i would love to use the mount on the right side of the motor but its not exactly the same mount as the alero currently has. anyways i just made a cardomain that i may post pictures up when the swap occurs to make it easier on the bandwidth here.

this is the one they have instead of what we have
there is a bracket on the right side of the engine and it just get bolted and nutted through. i believe i would be able to use that because of possible clearance issues. the bracket itself sticks out about 4-6 inches past the belt assembly.
sample of radiator mount
