well time to fix my hub bearing

hub bearing is finally making some noise. i was told when i bought it last year it was going to need to be replaced (way before the sound started) well the time has come to replace it. one question is what is the size for the halfshaft nut i saw these sizes when i looked it up : 1-5/16, 1-3/8 and 35mm which is it?

I think it depends on the nut you have.

Mine is the old style original one. Its got a nut with a pressed steel cover over it. Thats 35MM. which is 1.377"= 1.375 close enough = 1 3/8"

I went to Autozone for a socket and they didnt have a deep well 1 3/8" SO I tried the 35 and of course it fit.

Do you have air tools?

Probably would help you to use them

My dream garage will have air tools, compressor, and a lift. The lift might not happen though

Air does not help much for the hub change primarily cause the three toughest bolts are on the back of the spindle and impossible to get to with an impact gun. 3/4" ratchet and PB blaster are your friends.

Impact drill? What is that? My spindle bolts were so corroded that the air ratchet would not spin them off, I had to do it all by hand and ended up rounding one off so badly I had to pound a 1/2" socket onto it so I could get the damn thing out.

I think it's another word for Impact Gun.

Also, Aren't there car storage lifts for your shop for a few hundred?

Everyone here has 34 and 36mm but no 35. Why can't the Chinese supply us with the sizes we need?
