HU Issues
Hello everyone. This whole winter, I started having some issues with my HU, and now it seems I am facing those issues more and more. When it is hot outside, my HU will turn on with little to no difficulty, however, when I turn on my car, if it is even a bit cool outside, the stereo will not turn on. If I turn the key to the off position, It works, but once I turn on the car again, it goes off again. Now my temporary fix is, let the car warm up a bit with the heater, while I drive, and turn it off and on again. Now, before it would only happen when it was cold, now it seems to happen even if it is just cool outside, and it takes longer for my HU to be able to turn on. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
Details:
Car is an 04 Alero, with a JVC Arsenal head unit.

Maybe the wiring. I will have to check that. If the HU was going out, though, I think it would always do that, and it only does that when it is cold. Also, when I change the key to the off position, it works. Even on cold days. I am thinking it is more like something in the ignition switch, or maybe the key.

Why does you radio work with the key in the off position?
What wiring harness did you use? Did you use the chime one or?

When I turn on the car, then turn it off, the car will power off, but the HU will stay on until I open the door. My issue is, on cold, or cool days, when I turn my car on, the HU powers off, I turn my car off, and HU powers back on until I open the door. On hot days however, this is not an issue.
For wiring I am using the scosche wiring with the chime module.

Well, after having taken my car to the mechanic today for the rain issues, I told him to also look at that issue. He said it was the chime module, and corrected the problem.
