What should I do. I just got a CAI and I want a nice deep low sound. I really want exhaust, so should i go to the local shop and have them do a custom job or should i buy a SLP. I heard the borla isnt that good unless you get new headers. I know this question has been asked alot.

I've got a $20 ebay muffler that surprising sounds great, not high pitched like a honda and not super loud it's going to get you pulled over. I haven't gotten the CAI yet, but I took that like resister thing that is on the air box and my car sounds great. People definitely look when I downshift. Its impressive at idle too. plus it almost looks stock because the tips are lined up right with the rear bumper.
I don't have any pip work done though.
Muffler

It was originally on my bf's 240sx but the turned up tips were getting carbon all over his bumper (no cats on his car) so I ended up with it. I like it alot.

I had a guy yesterday asked me how much my tuned exhaust system cost me. I was like $20. He about pooped himslef when I told him it was a cheap muffler and that was it. He was like, "damn that sounds great, I thought it was expensive." It was cool, lol

Problem is how long will it last. Hopfully it dosnt blow the Baffels out.

I ended up going with S&S headers, 2.5 inch SLP piping, Magnaflow high flow cat, and a Borla Pro XS Muffler, sounds great! better than my crappy old Flowmaster 80s.

how did you get just the SLP piping? I got my borla tips and 80series flowmaster a couple days ago, just saving money for piping, would love then slp prebent piping.

what most people do is buy the whole system, muffler and all, and use the piping and then sell the muffler, thats what i would do, and i would defnately going with the flowmaster 80, thats what i have
