ok, I know I'm late to the fight, but lets just lay it out like this.....the venture PCM is connected to a 4t65 trans. It's NOT GOING TO WORK IN YOUR CAR.

I already went through this with swapping a 4t65 trans into my alero. The computer signals for shift solenoids is ass backwards for the 1-2.

Meaning, when you shift into drive from a dead stop, by MPH, the computer is commanding first gear (which it should be) but since the shift pattern for the 1-2 solenoid is opposite for the two different transmissions, the "1st gear" signal sent from the PCM is going to cause your trans to be in third. Not good.

all that is aside from the fact that everyone that said so earlier is right about your commanded shift points will be vastly different. Both by MPH (in open loop) and by RPM at WOT (closed loop).

Throw an intake and exhaust on you Alero and you'll have the 15 hp difference with like the U body

With the HP tuners, you can gain the 15 horse pretty easy. In all, a lot cheaper than a swap that isn't going to produce any more HP.
