guages on dvd player???

today i saw that one of my friends had his guages displayed on his in-dash dvd player. i asked him how he did it, but he refused to share that info with me. does anyone here know how to do it and/or what i need to do it?

Ive never heard of any indash dvd systems having a setting for reading gauges. The only one I know of is by AIM industries.
