Car looks good man, I voted intake first. But before you start moding make sure you don't have any "problems" under the hood or with the drivetertian. I think most the guys on here will agree go motor first, appearance later on down the road.

Good Ideas

Thanks again. These are all good ideas. The drivetrain on this thing is flawless. It's like a brand new car. The lady that owned it before me had it serviced at the dealer every 3,000 miles. I still have the checklist from the GM factory, and all of the original paperwork from the first dealership. This lady kept everything. I'm definately planning to get the fluids changed, I've always run synthetic in my cars, it did wonders for my last car, a 2000 Chevy Malibu with a 3.1. I already have some intake parts, I want to go all chrome piping, with minimal rubber. I'll be clearing the corners in the next week or two - will have pics. I'll take a few snapshots under the hood to show you guys the "clenliness". I took my strut bar off of the Malibu and put it on the Alero, does a good job at holding it steady over 80 Mph.

thats cool! the price seems kinda high because 2000's kelly blue book at around $4500 for excellent condition. the car looks very clean, so chances are that it was a decent deal. any kind of warranty from the dealer?

I got my '01 for 1400. perks of having parents that work for the dealership and they made the used car salesman a few grand a few years back

ANyway nice car. I'd do rims or cleared corners first.

I bought my 2000 for around $5000 CAD with 80k on it 3 years ago...

btw, is it just me or do "vent-visors" seem a little out of place in this poll?

...why??

WoW

I got a 3 month warranty from the dealer, and it already paid off, cause I needed a new A/C Compressor. Actually, the total sale price was only about $4500, I had to pay a bit extra cause my credit sucks . The only reason I want the vent visors is cause I like the function of them, and they don't look too bad. I just took a look at all the basics, air filter, pcv valve, plugs and wires, and found some small flaws. The elbow from the pcv valve to the pipe is cracked, and had electrical tape around it. The air filter was almost clogged, thank God for a shop vac, my spark plugs and wires are all still stock. Luckily I've still got my AC Delco rapidfire plugs from my Malibu, and a set of Accel 8.8mm wires I've been dying to use on something. The wires that are on it now have some wear spots, and are starting to crack. At least it doesn't seem bad enough to cause a miss or any crazy electrical problems. Good thing I decided to pop the hood tonight.

as for the vent visors, if you do get them, i recommend the ones from weathertech. the ones made by vent visor, stick to the outside of the window and wreck the crome trim, plus do not really work... the weathertech ones sit inside the window sil, and are much better IMO.

Weathertech

WoW! I just about crapped myself when I saw the price. They do look good though, and are probably worth the price. I have a little trick to installing the vent visors. It's all in the adhesive. The 3M double-sided foam tape that comes with them is crap. I work in a factory and have access to something a little better. It's still by 3M, but its a high-durometer (very firm) foam rubber, with acrylic based adhesive on both sides. It's only about 1/32" thick, and won't mess with the paint and or trim.
