Excellent job with the front speakers chipmunk. How were you able to get a round speaker to fit? I know some of what you did but I'm quite curious about it.

I seen an adapter plate with only two screws holding it in.
With those adapter plates you really need to be cautious with the overall height. You need to make sure the speaker wont come into contact with the door panel on the inside.
As far as the tweeter placement, thats a bad spot. Get them in the sail panels of on the a pillar just above the dash hump aiming right at each other.
The comp set didnt have an external crossover? Ouch. How much did they run ya?

There is 4 screws holding that plate in, you cant see one but the other I hadnt put in yet. And the speaker does not come into contact with the door panel, I checked and double checked. Also, the crossover deal, it said it has an ICC (integrated concealed crossover) and there is a little black box on the back of the speaker next to where you hook the tweet.
I wanted the tweeters in there but they are 1". Where else?

be REALLY ABSOLUTELY SURE that speaker (when thumping) isn't touching the door.
i had a pair i did that with... they ripped in under 6 months.... LAME. (on my part)
and that tweeter is going to give horrible imaging.... tweeters are suppose to aim across the car.. not at your elbow!
off topic... but ryan, you saw my dual gauge pod, and how its basically blocking my tweeter... Has anyone seen a dual pod, with the pods at the top??

The speaker is fine, the tweeter isnt permanent. There aren't any holes there.

The stock placement is good, but the aiming is horrible. The stock tweeters and most tweeters out there suck when directed on axis. You will get better SQ overall keeping them off axis.
on axis means the tweeters are aimed at a persons head. Whether its cross aimed or not is another issue.
Off axis is when they are not aimed at your head.
Think of it this way. Think of a sound wave emulating off the tweeter but the center of the wave isnt there. You want to try and keep yourself in the outter ring where the sound is radiating.

Ya that hurts. My drivers side was into the dash hump, but it didnt matter. The side that meant the most made it through See above paragraph.

^That there is a crime to those tweeters.
$10 for shipping and your sail panels and I will send you my sail panels already modified to fit those tweeters.
I can always modify another set if I need to in the future.

SQ is EXTREMELY suggestive.
One person will tell you put your tweeters off axis, some will put them on axis. It all depends on your ears.
Me personally, my components sound sooo much better on-axis with me.
*Nice install. I personally don't like the tweeter placement but to each his own...

Where do you suggest, they sound good to me there. But I wish I could move them a little more forward on the door.
