Installation of Starter

2.4L Engine
To Remove:

Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.
Remove the air inlet duct from the throttle body.
Position a drain pan under the oil filter and remove the oil filter.
Remove the top starter mounting bolt.
Raise and safely support the vehicle.
Remove the lower cover panel
Remove the lower starter mounting bolt.
If necessary, position the engine wiring harness aside.
Position the starter to enable access to the solenoid wiring. Disconnect the harness wires.
Remove the starter from the vehicle.

To Install:

Position the starter to the vehicle.
Connect the harness wires.
Install the lower starter mounting bolt. Tighten to 74 ft lbs (100 Nm).
If moved, reposition the engine wiring harness.
Install the lower cover panel.
Lower the vehicle.
Install the top starter bolt, Tighten to 74 ft lbs (100 Nm).
Replace the oil filter.
Install the air inlet duct to the throttle body.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Check the oil level and add if necessary.
Start the engine, recheck the oil level and add if necessary

3.4L Engine

To Remove:

Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cable
Radiator lower air deflector if necessary
Torque converter cover
Electrical connections from the starter
Starter motor

To Install:

Install or connect the following:
Starter motor and torque the bolts to 32 ft. lbs. (42 Nm)
Starter solenoid BAT terminal
Starter solenoid S terminal
Torque converter cover and torque the bolts to 89 in lbs. (10 Nm)
Radiator lower air deflector if removed
Negative battery cable

hey wouldn't it help more if you listed what wires go where? Im asking cause i removed my engine and once i put the 2000 dollar rebuilt engine back it i will run into this obstacle. I labeled them but the tape fell on some of the wires

2.2L Engine

To Remove:

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Raise and safely support the vehicle.
Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the starter.
Remove the starter mounting bolts.
Remove the starter.

To Install:

Install or connect the following:
Starter to the engine.
Starter mounting bolts. Tighten to 30 ft lbs (40 Nm).
Electrical connections to starter. Tighten the battery terminal nut to 13 ft lbs (17 Nm).
Lower the vehicle.
Connect the negative battery cable.
