chip wipe-out?
I saw this comment on youtube -"yea well my alero was nasty 148 mph from that v6 the only thing holding it back is a chip wipe it out and all of a sudden the alero changes from meak to beastly"
my car is being held back by that stupid 107mph limiter.. i doubt it would do 148, but... say i did tune the cpu, would it make a big difference? somebody in my area says they have a tuner. abut 78 bucks to have mine done. i know its big on diesel trucks, but not so sure about cars like these. i just wanted to know opinions.

Wait until you have a s/c or turbo in your car, because even then it's not getting upto 108 in the 1/4 mile.
I also forsee this thread being closed, very soon

Whoever made that comment is misinformed. Tuning options are limited to HP Tuners the last I checked and it isn't exactly cheap. That said, you could remove the limiter and probably squeak out a little more power and MPGs if you take the time to learn the program.

I realize that, I was just asking to see if it was that big of a difference. Which I really didn't think it was going to be. Just double checking. Therefore I'm not going to bother with it anymore.... And rob, you were the one who told me about it.

Also considering IIRC it costs $50 a credit and takes 2 credits with hp tuners, i don't see anyone only charging you 78

He could just send his PCM to milzy and he can do it. He will remove speed limiters, increase shift points, increase line pressure, advance timing, cooling fans temp to 180 and remove rear O2 bank code. All for $100
