how would i know if i have keyless entry?..i bought my car used and they didnt dive me any fob's...i have a 99 alero gls sedan...im pretty sure i do , sincxe when i hit my lock once it does the delay thing and in like 15 seconds, it locks, horn honks and lights flash...

best bet would be to go to the dealer and get the fobs.

or you could always just get an aftermarket alarm

Go to ebay and buy a FOB for like 20$. It comes with instructions to program it too. If it works then there you go. If you get one from the dealer you are going to pay alotta Dollas to get it and they are going to want to charge you to program it.

and also, just because your horn beeps and the lights flash, doesn't mean anything. my girl has the same thing. she has a 99 gls sedan, and she got hers used. she took it to the gm dealership and they ran her vin number and she doesn't have keyless entry. so she just an aftermarket one. also, like they said...the dealership is going to charge a lot of dollars. so hit up the one off of ebay and try and program it yourself.

yeah im planning on getting th fobs off ebay...its like $24 shipped for 2 of then...im just wondering if theres a place i can look for a unit that controlls that...like in my old cavi, i found it behids the carpet in the trunk on the drivers side, just to see if i have it or not

here's two ways to find out.

1) look under the spare tire cover for the code "AU0"

2) the RKE Receiver is clipped into the rear deck underneath the carpeting just about right above the trunk light.
