Has anyone had any problems with their engine running warm? As according to your temperature guage? I am just wondering if anyone has had their fan quit working? I noticed that when its getting warm the fans are not kicked on.......Any information will help????

mine always seems to run a bit hot in the summer, in traffic. A hair above middle on the gauge. I never hear the fan come on....so I just throw on the AC. Prollem solved.

I have also heard that our elec fans are programmed to kick on at a temp greater than what our stock thermostat is rated for...so basically, it will NEVER turn on.

I have already rulled that one out.......I even had the thermostat changed thinking that that might have been bad, and of course when they put that on the flushed the radiator. I still have a feeling that my fans are not kicking on and that is why..................I was just wondering if anyone else has had that problem

^ Actually, I'm having that issue right now which is why i'm here looking to see what others think... right now it's kinda dangling between the 1/2 way point to the 3/4 point on my therm gauge which is odd for my car.... it's usually at 1/2 way.... i'm going to try the thermostat change first which is what I did with my sunbird a few years back when i had the same problem and see if that works... never know.

It only acted up this past weekend, so i'm going to try a few different things.... I'm finding the fan doesn't come on as much as it should in traffic lately... could be some kinda relay for the fan or something.... who knows.

Mine is an 02 w/ 93000ish miles and I had the lower intake gasket done where I work, it still rides alittle above the middle, but only when I'm stopped in a praking lot idling for ten minutes or so. Then it goes back down. Never does it in traffic that I've noticed. Put a colder Thermostat in it.
If that does'nt work I dunno.

I've noticed my 3400 running warmer lately, but the weather has dictated alot down here.
One thing i noticed that helps cool my car down is actually popping the hood. lets a considerable amount of air into the engine compartment, but seems sturdy enough to not fly up and blind me on I-94.
Also i've noticed my fans turned on for the first time yesterday proving to me they work. They do run really quiet though, i wouldnt have noticed unless i had looked under the hood when my temp went hay wire.

Peace out,
ch RON ic
