Performance exaust without all the sound?

Hey all. So iam looking to do some exhaust mods. High flow cat, headers, and muffler ect..however unlike most people iam not looking to draw attention to myself with a defining exhaust note. The local police seemed to have a problem with my old straight piped regal.. so do they make like a silencer sort of thing?

Valley olds is an unknown quantity at this point
Okay, so if I understand you correctly, police had a problem with your straight pipe regal. So to put it into simple mathematics

Straight pipe= No muffler + No Resonator car is too loud hence you get pulled over.

Add a muffler and resonator and your problem should be solved.

There are actually straight through mufflers (Magnaflow, Dynomax, and maybe a few others), so you could use that.

Not exactly a "silencer" but kind of similar :

Even with a decent cam, my exhaust is fairly quiet.
S&S headers -> Vibrant metallic converter -> Magnaflow resonator -> Magnaflow (dual-outlet) crossflow muffler. 2.5" piping from headers back.

Im a big fan of dynomax on V8's, not sure how they sound on these. but its worth looking into..and strait pipes are about as loud as it gets aside from open headers, a muffler will fix your problems

IDK those Jersey cops are usually pricks.

I had a Hillsbourgh cop pull me over, in bumper to bumper, going 5 mph traffic, for loud exhaust and I had a Flowmaster 80 at the time.

Had an Englsihtown cop, young punk cop too, follow me to the edge of town with my Delta once, and that car wasn't that loud. 2 Flowmaster 44's with cats and exhaust manifolds.

Can't nail me for that in NJ since I have PA plates
