I always was able to lay down a nice smoke screen with my old v6 alero.

I tried to dump the clutch on my mazda today, all I did was get some nasty wheel hop. Bah, Need to learn how to do a burnout in a manual without burning up the clutch.

how did you do it in your old alero Smokin? all i do is take the trac control off and floor it, its not a technical burnout but, i spin the tires for a few good feet

1: Gas PeddleDown to the floor with clutch in
2: Let the clutch out as fast as possible
3: (OPTIONAL) Emergency Brake up
4: Watch the smoke roll of the tires

I was answering Smokins question really. I thought I hit the quote button but I guess not so his text isnt there about him asking how to do a standard burnout.

I just brake torqued mine...cut the steering wheel to one side then pull it back straight fast too, then I could smoke them for a LONG time.

so just like a realllly fast turn, only starting out to one side, and then turning sharp back to the center while you floor it?

i spun my tires for quite a few seconds coming out of this parking lot tonight... it was slightly downhill too... just took off trac control, floored it, and i was turning too, so that prolonged the whole spinage of the tires... /me loves smell of burning rubber... mmmmmm

it sucks when you burnout at the track (just to show off, i know it worsens traction on street tires) and even with the hvac off, all the smoke comes in your car, and your eyes start to burn and you cant see the tree but then you still beat an auto rx8

youll get flat spot on your back tires from draging them.
not with the taco bell tray trick. I haven't done this myself, but I saw a video of a dude doing it in the slush. Looks fun.

1) steal 2 trays from taco bell (or any other fast food joint)
2) park your car near where you want to do the burn out
3) place the 2 trays behind each back wheel
4) back up onto the trays so that the back wheels are pretty much in the middle of the tray
5) engage the e-brake
6) commence the burnouts!

remedy:

1) hvac stays on heat
2) fan on the first setting
3) vents pointed at your face
4) indoor air only

if you have the busted HVAC resistor (like so many of us do) the fan in the first setting takes up NO power, but you need it in the first setting to trick the A/C into thinking that it is on, so you can keep the indoor air. now you have no smoke in your car, and you can keep your windows closed.

I agree with Rube, they should make an air freshener of burning rubber. That, and maybe one of burning Nitro Methane. B)
