arg!!
i have an after market radio/cd player but it is too long for the compartment in my 99 gls to fit.. how do i get it in there cause the adapter dash thing i got didnt work... anybody have the specific thing i need?

yeah. take a pair of your favorite cutters to the back of the plastic retainer, for the stock unit.
that damn stuff gets in the way, for everyone's aftermarket h.u

So the head unit is too wide for the opening? I have dealt with this many times...unfortunately it was on vagina.
Seriously tho. The only think you are gonna be able to do is to either custom fit a bracket to the area but 1st dremel out the opening further.

Get a cutter and have at it!
I had to cut that vertical metal piece out thats welded to the bar.
While your at it get rid of a lot of that plastic in there. its useless.

use a Dremel with a cutter bit if you have access to one, that's what I used but be extremely careful around any wires.
