Hey guys is it ture that you have to take all of your keyless romotes to the GM dealer to get reprogam. I just bought a new remote?? Thanks for anyinfo

i forgot , they should have instructions with it?

something like turning the key to the on position and holding in 2 buttons? forgot it though

im pretty sure there used to be a how-to... maybe it was on gagt.com, i dont remember, when i first got my car i was gonna get some remotes, but later found them brand new in my trunk.

I can't comment on the GM remotes, but the Toyota remotes that we produce require a flash program. They are a two way remote. It may make a difference.

yea, the alero remotes arent that advanced, they are one way rf transmitting remotes. there is a program sequence dealing with pushing and holding some button(s) turning the key to on, etc etc. i'll look for it.

there are actually instructions on the inside of the remote itself telling you which buttons to push and for how long (I think it said hold unlock and lock at the same time for 6 seconds)...I'm guessing that the car does need to be on though in order for the remote to receive a signal confirming that it has been programmed.

press lock and unlock and hold for 7 sec while near car....what inside says, oh yeah, i just found out why mine didn't work, no battery lol.
