just don't even use them 4x6s and get the kickpanels for them. Get a better size speaker and better imaging.

I replaced my stock 4x6's with Memphis M-Class 6 1/2" componants. The mid in the stock lower door location and the tweeter in the stock sailpanel.Door looks stock---but the sound is amazing.BIG difference!!!!By the way, dynomatted the door heavely.

Go with comps in the door and use the money for a pair of kick panels to dynomat. Kick panels are extremely over rated and used primarily for ease of installation. There is a slight bit of gain in imaging but a proper door install will sound much better. A componant woofer needs a good deal of volume (sealed) in order to perform at full potential. By placing them into a kick panel you loose the efficiency of the woofers mid and lower extension. The only way to fully compensate is with a eq and about 20 percent more wattage than a sealed and dynomated door.

1: how did you mount the 6.5in in the door? Did you just cut into the metal...rather not do that. Also kicks aren't too overrated as long as you know how to install them correctly. Venting the kick into the back area gives it a tad more space to breathe and also it does wonders on the imaging. And power isnt a problem for me...i haven't even turned up my gains on the Monitor 1 amps past 15%.

I removed the map pocket and made a new piece for holding the comps.
