Ecotec Oil Filter Tool?

The internal oil filter cover has a massive size nut on it, you can't keep a socket on it because it hits the intake, and you don't have room to put in a wrench. So wtf are you supposed to use? To get it tight, and take it off from being tight, without stripping the cover?

^^ Those are just for the old filters, I can't see than working on the Eco's oil cap.

I've only changed oil one car with this system, a Saturn, but I was at the shop then, earning my keep to build the Delta

I just use a 1 and 1/4 inch socket. This is on a cavalier with an ecotec but i can't imagine it's different.

Yeah I used to work in the TLE @ Wal-Mart and everytime we saw an ecotec....we scream ECOTEC!...It made it easier for the lower bay to do their job.

it's not that, it has a nut

it's those stupid designed oil filters with covers over them that are attached with some weird nut, not some hand tighten filter

if you google "ecotec oil filter" you get a ton of results for that socket lol

It may be a pain to change but internal oil filters are an excellent design... Its how most the higher end german engines are done, mercedes, bmw, porsche, etc
