Lx9 question
Is it possible to use the stock crank trigger in the stock location by swapping the timing chain cover from the 3400 to the 3500 engine? and using the stock 3400 crank pulls

Crank trigger is a different set-up on the LX9, so using a stock 3400 external, I doubt will work.
Maybe Ben with chime in

Why would you go the other way around?
Didn't you bought a complete working 3500 engine?
Would be a waste of time & money to use the 3400 parts on the 3500 engine
Either swap the entire engine (3500) in your car or keep the 3400 & swap all the top of the 3500 on it
Otherwise you wont get the performance you're looking for & it be more trouble then anything else... IMO

Ok look it's my damm car and I'm doing the damm swap not you. So I'm doing it how I want to do it so it's easier on my wallet. It's getting the 3400 upper intake and that's that. If your so damm insistent on doing a full 3500 swap with the 3500 upper go do it your self And stop telling me that I need to do what you feel is neccacary for this swap !!!!.....mmk

I did a bit of digging and found out that i can't do it that way. I thought it was the sensor behind the pully that was being moved. Lol I had a brain fart I guesse

See what i mean you'll get a lots of that by going this way
Now i could understand if the 3500 engine was not working properly & wanted to replace defective parts with the 3400 engine but as far as we know you bought a good working 3500 engine so i fail to see your logic in the way you're going with this...? (no offense)

YOU HAVE TO SWAP A BUNCH OF PARTS OVER TO THE 3500 for it to work properly. Obviously you haven't done much research.....
This should help you.....helped us A LOT.....

He got all the help he needs in that guide anyways.....except for the cam sensor....doesn't have anything in there about that. Have to swap it over but like i said be careful cause the part where the bolt goes through WILL break easily since it's only plastic.

You know, today I was looking at a cam sensor I pulled out of an '02 Alero and it actually has a metal collar inside the screw hole. JAWA does seem to have a chip on his shoulder, so best of luck to him on not screwing something up.

Yea but that doesn't help with the breaking issue....if it's in the hole.....the problem is you gotta pry it out and the ONLY spot to pry on is the tab....cause you can't get any other tool in there (maybe a 30 degree pick or something) but we had problems getting to it. Then it came out.....but the tab broke Yes, jawa does have a chip on his shoulder....thinking this is gonna be done in a weekend....that's exactly what i thought He'll learn.....and hopefully he doesn't rush things cause there is a lot to do and if you miss something.....not good.
