help with timing chain housing

so i need to pull the head off my LD9 i took off the cam towers, cams, timing chain, gears etc... theres 2 little bolts underneath the TCH, im assuming i have to take it off to get to those bolts. according to the haynes theres a few little bolts to get the housing off. 4 connected to the pan and couple more on the bottom. i pulled evry bolt i saw on the housing off but it still wont come out. am i missing something?

I'm sure you removed the tensioner already and found the bolt underneath that, right?


And you unbolted the 3 nuts holding the housing to the water pump?

Double check all the edges. It's been a while since I've pulled a housing off, but I think there might be a couple bolts hidden by an idler pulley.

Also, the housing may need a little "persuasion" in order to remove it, especially since if someone has used sealant on it in the past.

But be careful, the housing will crack easily. You may be able to carefully pry at some of the corners.
