First problem at 51,000k miles - Had to replace ignition coil on cylinders 3 and 2, cost $550

Second problem at 66,000k miles - Had to replace ignition coil on cylinders 4 and 1, cost $550

Third problem at 78,000k miles - Threw a rod bearing and f***ed up the block, replacing with a new 40k mile motor. cost $2500, its still in the shop from this incidence.

I hate my car, its the 2.4L 2001 GL

Replaced ignition coil? @ less than 100K. Was this from the dealer or your average joe repair shop?

Our engine may not be the toughest, but unless you constabtly redline, you really can't throw a rod bearing.

pffft...i beg to differ....how many motors you know can take nitrous so well or turbo/SC without costly internal mods(to a certain point...not nothin stupid extreme like 15psi)

i drive mine hard...drag race it and redline shifts aren't uncommon when i'm drivin with my buddies...i have no complaints about the 2.4....only complaint i have is the rotors, hubs, paint, rear defrost and whatever other problems that usually come with the 'ho...
