Has anyone ever sat down and priced this out? To get it from Auto to Manual?

I really don't think it would cost that much. You need the comp, linkage and brackets, and trans....but you could also sell/trade your auto trans...I would say it would be less than $500 dollars for the whole swap. Of course if you get into upgraded clutches etc, it would go up. This is after you sell your low mileage auto....and assuming you could get the parts from a junk yard/parts car.

It's hard enough to find a 5-speed Alero on the street let alone in the yard. The trans and other big stuff is no big deal, it just gets to be a pain with the console trim, clutch pedal, shifter and cables, etc... (I'm sure some of that might be shared with the J-Bodies)

Go to the J-Body.org classifieds (http://www.j-body.org/classifieds/engine/) and look for the post from gm guy. He can get you full swaps for decent prices.

^^Impressive! A lot better pricing that collecting parts from a yard and doing it yourself...
