alarm and keyfob issues

i am having two problems

i have a viper alarm and two keyfobs. one keyfob seems to work every time. the other only sometimes. it was doing that awhile ago and i changed the battery and it was fine for more than three months. now it doesn't trigger the car for something like 3/4 presses. i put in a new battery and that didn't fix it.

issue 2 - sometimes, (with both fobs), the locks lock/unlock but the alarm doesn't chirp. the horn is really close to my CAI and i had to position it where the hood might be pushing on it a little. (i didn't have this issue before the CAI.) i think the ground might be a little loose if it does get pushed by the hood, but wouldn't that disable the whole system? what would cause the alarm to stop but the locks keep working?

I had to clean the concacts on a couple of my key fabs, worked for a while then I'ld have to clean em again. and I have no clue on the alarm, I know mine doesn't sound sometimes but rite now its rite around 0* so I think its just that the speaker is too cold, but that shouldn't be your problem.

I would double check all of your wiring. Make sure all the ground locations are snug and look around for corrosion. Take your keyfobs apart and make sure there is no corrosion in there either. Just take a small flat-head screwdriver and scrape it away if it is present.

if it's the ground, why do the other electrics like the locks work?

There is a separate location where it would be grounded. Probably under the dash, or in the side panels where the fuses are.

This seems to be a rather random problem.
