Getting rear windows to go down all the way

Hey everyone, please dont laugh, but I was wondering if it is possible to get the rear windows to lower all the way? I have a friend that did it on his town car. All he did was remove a plastic which would stop the window from going lower, and thats it.
Also, if you can, do this, are there any drawbacks? I would think kids can jump out, but whatever, I dont have kids.
I was wanting to do this because 1. I am bored, 2. It is free, and 3. I think it'd kind of look cooler when cruising.

as far as i know, there isn't enough room in our rear doors for the glass to go completely down...and this fault was turned around and used by GM as a "safety feature" to keep kids from jumping out windows

...cause we all know kids can't wait to jump out the window of a moving car!

you can take the motors and regulators from a 99 or lower and they will roll down more then they are currently, i still have to do this.

so the later year aleros only allowed the rear windows to roll down like half way? mine is a 00 and they stick up maybe 2 inches from the door.

Well, its not halfways, its more like switch said.
If I have to change window motors and regulators to get them to go down more, Ill just wait for my stockers to go bad, which they probably will one day from what Ive read.

is there any way you could take the motor off a front regulator and mount it on a rear one? this would solve it i would think, b\c i think there is enough room for the window to slide if i remember right, buts it been a while since i've had my rear panels off.
