UIM and LIM and timing chain question
I have a 2000 3400 motor will all 3400 upper and lower intakes fit ? I am looking at getting a set to port and polish so they will be ready when I do the gaskets.
timing chain
can it be done without pulling the motor ?

uhhhh yes 3400 manifolds will fit 3400 manifolds
as far as your timing chain.....it can kinda be done with motor still in, your would just have to un do the passenger side motor mount let motor dip (with wooden block support on oil pan) and remove your crank pulley, and then jack your motor up a little and do the upper portion, it can be done but its gonna be one hell of a job

there is a difference in upper manifolds, there are 2 different egr valves used depending on yr. timing chain will most likely be a pain in the ass, but can be done while motor is still in the car.

I think 99 and 00 were old style EGR but I am not sure. 99 was different for sure. And I can guarantee that the timing cover and oil pan are going to be a bitch to get off with the engine in the car. Why are you doing the timing chain? They are surprisingly tough, mine showed no visible signs of wear at 130,000 when my engine blew. The keyways on the sprockets seem to be a weak point so if you are in there check those for damage. That is what did me in.

Nothing is wrong with them. They are still large port manifolds and there is not difference in the intakes other than saying 3100 on them. Ben do you remember which year they made the EGR change?

No, P&P 3100 manis would probably be the same as the 3400 manis stock

2000 was the EGR change, and the better flowing 3100/3400 upper is this style as well.

Exact same manifold as a 3400. You will enjoy ported parts. They really make a difference.
