Custom Backseat Speakers

I was wondering what you think of this. I really like this, I have found that the backseat is too small to fit three of my friends so I'm thinking about doing this. I was just going the peel/cut the back of the seat and put a wooden frame behind the front fabric( and maybe some cushion) and then put the back material back on. Let me know what you think.

Looks like a good, interesting idea. For speakers though, I would not recommend it though. I have heard all treble is supposed to come from the front while bass should come out from the back. Putting speakers where you mentioned, would IMHO probably drown out the front speakers. It would likely be better for subs. Maybe a pair of 8 or 10 inchers.

Also, make sure enclosure measurements for subs is good.

Its a waste. That sound it going to mostly hit the back of your seats and be dead. The rest will reflect off your windshield and sound terrible. (horrible imaging)

instead, put more money into a proper front sound stage (5.25 or 6.5 in the doors) and you'll be MUCH better off.

[experience taken from bouncing ideas similar to this off audio gurus and getting laughed at. then putting in a good set of fronts myself, and being overly impressed at the quality/sound]

Doing that will not be as easy as you think. To me, no matter how good you do of installing them they will look ghetto. And they'll sound no better then what you have in the rear deck now.

Even after doing my rear deck, even though they sound allot better, I wish I had done my doors first or kicks.

Ryan from Ohio will become famous soon enough
Both ideas are a horrible waste.

The bad part is after you figure out your mistake its gonna cost you $$$ to put it back to stock when you visit the local junk yard.
